For the classic album’s 30th anniversary, Billy Corgan has announced that he’s giving The Smashing Pumpkins’ Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness the opera treatment in Chicago.

Billy Corgan And The Machines Of God to embark on U.S. tour
Billy Corgan reveals the Return To Zero Tour as his new solo project, with the setlist including material from Smashing Pumpkins’ Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, Machina… double albums and last year’s Aghori Mhori Mei.

Billy Corgan has unveiled a brand-new solo project and announced a summer U.S. tour.
The Smashing Pumpkins’ legend will be hitting the road under the banner Billy Corgan And The Machines Of God, joined by drummer Jake Hayden, bassist Kid Tigrrr (Jenna Fournier) and the Pumpkins’ touring guitarist Kiki Wong.
The run – which is entitled A Return To Zero – promises to be a career celebration, with a setlist featuring material from Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness, Machina/The Machines Of God and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies Of Modern Music, and last year’s Aghori Mhori Mei. Check out the dates below, and get your tickets from 10am local time on Friday, April 4.
On top of that, Smashing Pumpkins have announced the long-awaited remixed and remastered editions of their 2000 concept albums Machina/The Machines Of God and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies Of Modern Music
