After stating that he’d be “bang in the centre of the mosh-pit” at last night’s Limp Bizkit show, Conor McGregor’s name was seemingly booed by the crowd at Dublin’s 3Arena.
The former UFC champion had taken to social media to share that he would be going to the March 11 gig and would be around if “anyone’s looking for their jaw broke and their teeth sent”. But as frontman Fred Durst pondered onstage, “It sounds like you’re in love with Conor McGregor here…” the vocalist was met with jeers from many fans around the venue. “I’ll be straight with you,” continued Fred, “from what I’ve heard, he’s actually out there right now…”
Plenty of footage of the audience response to Conor’s name has been shared online, with one fan on Reddit writing that, “That video didn’t capture the main booing. It was a tiny sliver of the reaction.”
“The boos were very loud in the arena,” agreed another. “I can’t imagine his ego would have enjoyed being mocked, booed and laughed at. Fred knew what he was doing.”
“Fred mentioned him again a song or two later and he was booed again,” posted another gig-goer. “One of the night’s highlights, for me.”
