Of this year’s line-up, Deftones lead singer and guitarist Chino Moreno says: “In our second year of our festival, the exciting challenge for us is to make sure we once again give the fans a wonderful day of music that reflects the diversity of our own tastes. Each artist fits a different vertical of the music that we all love. There is truly something for everyone.”
He isn't lying. CHVRCHES rage, playing indie pop with a rock edge, while JPEGMAFIA encompass a a unique hip-hop sound. Hum are a “heavy space rock” group that are in the midst of emerging from a 20-year hiatus.
We recently spoke to Brutus about their latest album Nest, and they delved into the recording process: “Musically, the overall feeling towards the end of the writing and recording process was we wanted to make people proud; people we forgot a little bit along the way,” said drummer and singer Stefanie Mannaerts. “We’re chasing our dream, but people who are our life partners or family miss us a lot of the time. It’s for them, it’s inspired by them and it’s maybe an ode to everyone we love.”
