Listen to De’Wayne’s new “rock’n’roll soul” single, highway robbery
De’Wayne is back with another brilliant single, highway robbery, which he reveals was written first as a poem before evolving…
“I hope when people hear it, they think about the person they can’t escape…” Listen to De’Wayne’s brand-new single, biological.
De’Wayne has released a brand-new single, biological.
Following February’s highway robbery, the musician’s newest effort is about “that undeniable pull – when love isn’t just a choice, it’s instinct,” he says. “No matter what, I keep running back to her, and it’s effortless, like it’s wired into me. It’s not about thinking, it’s about feeling – something deeper than logic, something natural. This song is pure emotion, raw and real. The kind of love that feels like it’s in your DNA.
“I wrote biological because I wanted to capture that feeling of love that’s so deep, it doesn’t feel like a choice – it just is,” De’Wayne continues. “I’ve never been good at explaining why I keep coming back, but I know it’s real, and I know it’s natural. This song is me embracing that, letting go of logic and just feeling. I hope when people hear it, they think about the person they can’t escape – in the best way possible. Some connections are just wired into us, and that’s what biological is all about.”

Last summer, we asked De’Wayne about the possibility of going on a proper headline tour with all his new material, to which he responded: “We are working on it! People get on me every day – I see them being like, ‘Album or tour, what are you doing?!’ With things happening the way that they are now, we just have to build it out. And, once again, I’m trying to do my own thing. If I’m not gonna be on a big tour then when I go on a headline tour I want it to be right, and for people to know the songs. I’m on the patient train! And I really want to make this right. I have big dreams and aspirations, and I’ve got to put out more music and put my face out there before just going on tour. I want to be smart about it all.”
