Pop megastar Dua Lipa unleashed a cover of AC/DC’s Highway To Hell live in Melbourne last night (March 17).

On the opening date of her Radical Optimism Tour at the Rod Laver Arena, during Act II of the show, Dua shared from the stage that, “I thought, ‘Why not do a new song every night from a local artist from every place we’re in?’ Obviously Australia has an abundance of amazing musicians, so we thought we’d go really big from the very beginning. If you know it, sing it.”

Then, in-between These Walls and the tour debut of Maria, she belted out the 1979 rock staple, with fans online praising just how well it all went. “She surprised me with how powerful a rock tone her voice has,” said one YouTube comment. “She could genuinely make a career out of it. I’d love to see her cover The Divinyls.”

“It’s fantastic!” wrote another. “I’m a huge AC fan and have been for 45 years. She did a great job at keeping AC going. Who knows, she might have even brought on some new fans to their incredible music. That is a good thing in my book.”
