“I’m freaking out!” Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hits Number One in the UK charts
See Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong accepting their trophy from the Official Charts to celebrate Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hitting Number One.
Listen to Silver Snakes new album before it drops this Friday on Claudio Sanchez's Evil Ink Records.
Though 'industrial' is a word used to describe any guitar tone that sounds like it's being played through a bad laptop speaker, Silver Snakes are definitely adherents to the genre's crashing cultural tidal wave of the late '90s. The Los Angeles-based four-piece's music sounds as though it was made by teenagers trapped in the heart of a giant subterranean machine, slowly realizing they're imprisoned by the technology they're trying to keep functional. The result is a mixture of pounding digital percussion, churning guitars, and hard-rock angst that will excite fans of acts like Filter and Orgy.
The group's new album, Death And The Moon, out this Friday on Coheed And Cambria forntman Claudio Sanchez's Evil Ink Records, features eleven tracks of wry rock and pounding industrial. Songs like Worship and Tesserae barrel forward with neck-snapping abandon, while others like Eclipse and Lavender take a languid slow-burn approach that'll remind listeners of acts ranging from Nine Inch Nails to Chevelle. The record runs its steel-tipped fingers up and down the emotional fretboard, but never wavers from its pneumatic forward march.
