Green Day have just announced a massive performance for the Super Bowl LX pregame show.
The California trio – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – will play a medley of their biggest hits at Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium on February 8, and it’ll be aired live from 6pm ET on NBC, Telemundo, Peacock and Universo.
Via The Athletic, frontman Billie Joe enthuses, “We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard! We are honoured to welcome the MVPs who’ve shaped the game and open the night for fans all over the world. Let’s have fun! Let’s get loud!”
“Celebrating 60 years of Super Bowl history with Green Day as a hometown band, while honouring the NFL legends who’ve helped define this sport, is an incredibly powerful way to kick off Super Bowl LX,” adds NFL’s senior director of event and game presentation, Tim Tubito.
Despite wrapping up The Saviors Tour in 2025, and with no other live dates in their calendar right now, Green Day have still been keeping busy – as well as this upcoming Super Bowl LX set, the band played at Inglewood’s Kia Forum over the weekend (January 17) for iHeartRadio ALTer EGO 2026.
