It’s felt a looooong
time since My Chemical Romance wrapped up their incredible global comeback
tour, but last night (October 19) the New Jersey emo kings returned to the
stage at When We Were Young.
At the first
of two nights at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, the band – dressed
smartly in all-black suits, rather than any marching band-type outfits
– tore through their iconic 2006 album The Black Parade in full, as had
previously been announced.
So, as well as the likes of mega-singles Welcome To
The Black Parade, Teenagers and Famous Last Words, which we heard plenty on
their original reunion run, that meant playing the likes of The End., The Sharpest Lives
and Disenchanted for the first time in well over 15 years.
After the record,
My Chem then also squeezed in a couple of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge
bangers in the encore: I’m Not Okay (I Promise) and Helena to finish things up.
My Chemical Romance will headline When We Were Young again tonight (October 20) alongside Fall Out Boy, and then after that, their touring calendar is completely empty. C’mon, guys, we really want some more, please…
