In pictures: twenty one pilots kick off their epic Icy Tour

Having wowed audiences across the UK and Europe over the summer (and picked up a Kerrang! Award for Best Live Band while they were at it), twenty one pilots kicked off their huge, 23-date Icy Tour in the U.S. last night (August 18).

At the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun brought all the show-stoppers – as they always do – with a beautiful B-stage to get up-close and personal, Josh’s iconic drum island, Tyler’s smoking mask (seriously, how does that work?!) and much more.

The setlist celebrated all eras of their career, too, opening with latest album Scaled And Icy’s bouncy first track Good Day, before dropping fan-favourites all over the place – from Guns For Hands to Addict With A Pen to The Judge and Migraine. They finished with a fantastic run of Shy Away, Car Radio and Stressed Out, before the one-two encore of Heathens and Trees.
