Disney release their official pop-punk covers album, A Whole New Sound
Hear the likes of Bowling For Soup, LØLØ, Yellowcard and Meet Me @ The Altar tackle Disney classics for a new pop-punk covers album.
Meet Me @ The Altar have announced that guitarist Téa Campbell has stepped away, with the now-duo set to carry on as an independent band.
Guitarist Téa Campbell has announced that she has left Meet Me @ The Altar.
The pop-punks – who are therefore now a duo, comprised of vocalist Edith Victoria and drummer Ada Juarez – have confirmed that they will continue, and in fact have now become an independent band again after several years signed to Fueled By Ramen.
A statement from MMATA reads: “Téa is stepping away from the band to embark on a new chapter of her life. Ada and Edith are committed to rock on as Meet Me @ The Altar and are hard at work writing.
“We are proud to share that Meet Me @ The Altar is an independent band again. New music, tours and more right around the corner.”
Meanwhile, Téa says: “To all the fans I’ve met over the years, you have sincerely changed my life. Your kindness and support will live on in my heart forever.
“After nearly 10 years in the band, I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life. I’m very sorry to anyone this may disappoint and I hope that you understand.”
In a separate Instagram post on her personal account, Téa also reveals that her own music is on the way.
“I love and appreciate every single person who has supported me throughout my time in Meet Me @ The Altar,” she writes. “When I was 14 and decided I wanted to start a band, I had absolutely no idea where it would take me. The girls and I accomplished things beyond my wildest dreams and I’ll be forever grateful for everything I got to experience.
“However at this point in my life it’s time for me to step away and pursue other passions more aligned with who I am today. I wish the girls the best as they continue on and I’m super excited to release my own music this year. This isn’t the end but rather the beginning.”
Best of luck to all parties!
