Mike’s Dead drops intense new single, Bestrafe Mich (Punish Me)

Mike’s Dead has dropped a brand-new single called Bestrafe Mich (Punish Me).

The musician reveals that his latest effort is just “raw, aggressive sexual energy”, and proudly explains how, “Lately I feel like each release grows in power and ambition and Bestrafe Mich is probably one of the most Mike’s Dead songs I’ve ever released.”

Detailing its creation, he continues: “I have to be honest, I didn’t set out with the intention of writing a song like this; Bestrafe Mich started in my notes on my phone. I think I was driving and I remember thinking, ‘Punish Me would be a really sick song name,’ and then Googled the German translation for it.

“Weeks later I was working with my friend Jonathan who co-produced this with me, and everything just clicked. I wrote that pre-chorus ‘I want you nails under my skin’ part in maybe three minutes. It was one of those songs that just flowed out instantly and I think that translates to being a phenomenal end product. Insanely excited for people to hear this one – especially live – and get weird.”

Catch Mike’s Dead on the road with In This Moment, Kim Dracula, Motionless In White and I See Stars at various points this year: “We’ve got a ton of touring coming up and I’m super excited to kick off 2024 hard,” he says. “Extremely excited to tour with In This Moment and Kim Dracula in May. Doing a few shows with Motionless In White in that run, too, which will be massive. We just confirmed a July run too… we’re gunning to do 100 shows this year!”
