Everyone from Lambrini Girls to Danny Dyer and Kid Bookie to Edgar Wright are calling live music lovers to get involved in the first-ever Music Fans’ Voice survey.

This new 15-minute study is the opportunity for fans to share their thoughts and help inform actual government decision-making, as has been recommended by the Culture, Media And Sport Committee following the same type of survey in football.

“Artists rely more on fans than fans do on artists,” says Lambrini Girls’ Phoebe Lunny. “That connection is everything. Touring can feel isolating – long hotel stays, endless van rides, and time away from loved ones. Shows provide a small window for connection. Meeting fans, hearing their stories, and sharing values creates a sense of community that the industry often lacks. Not only do we owe our growth to our fans, but also a source of support that really does actually stop me from going mad sometimes. Despite the how transactional the music industry is, that is something you just can’t buy.”

“We are living in an age of hate, but this is a time where people need to come together,” rallies actor Danny Dyer. “So, we need you to do this survey, click on the link, it’s important, data is important, it makes people listen, let’s start owning it again. Live music’s important, it’s ingrained in our soul, click the link, I love yous, let’s fucking own music again.”

SOFT PLAY, who are also sharing their encouragement, add: “Our fans are everything. We simply wouldn’t be able to exist without them, it’s that simple. We want to hear from the people who make our job possible and know what they think.”

“I always say, you don’t define yourself,” says fellow supporter Kid Bookie. “When it comes to delivering yourself to the people you have to understand that it’s the people that are gonna tell you what you are. When we have their voice it’s so much louder than ours. Fans have the remote control, they put their money into you and decide what the trajectory of your career can be. We’d be nothing without them. Their voices are the most important.”

The Music Fans’ Voice survey closes on March 3 – head to musicfansvoice.uk now.
