It's been quite the day for Tool fans. Not only have the progressive metal titans finally released their fifth studio album Fear Inoculum, but they have also shared official versions of their music videos on YouTube.
Until recently, Tool have shunning streaming in all its forms – from YouTube to Spotify and beyond – but as the band worked up to the release of Fear Inoculum, all of their previous records were made available on every major streaming service for the first time ever.
“Our obsession with, and dream of, a world where BetaMax and Laser Disc rule has ended,” says Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan. “Time for us to move on. But never fear. There’s a brand new thing we think you’re really gonna dig. It’s called digital downloads and streaming. Get ready for the future, folks!”

But Tool are also streaming their visuals for the first time in an official capacity. For years there have been random accounts posting slightly low-resolution versions of the band's videos, but now Tool's own YouTube channel has posted seven of the band's eight official music videos – their 1992 video for Hush appears to be missing. However, you can still watch the full, feature-length videos for Schism, Prison Sex, Sober, Vicarious, Stinkfist, Ænema and Parabola.
Go on, in between repeat listens of Fear Inoculum, treat yourself to a few videos from Tool. They're batshit.
