The 2025 GRAMMY nominations are here, with Spiritbox, Knocked Loose (featuring Poppy), Green Day, Pearl Jam, IDLES, Metallica and more all up for awards.
A new album from Pearl Jam is on the way…
It's now been six years since we last heard a new album from Pearl Jam – 2013's excellent Lightning Bolt – but it looks like album 11 could be on the way very soon.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament have revealed that new music is in the works – but the band have simply just got to all get together to actually get it done.
“We’re going to make a record, and we’re in the middle of it,” says Stone. “We’re just going to keep plugging away until we get one done.”
“We’ve gone in, probably, four or five times in the last couple of years, so we have a whole ton of unfinished stuff,” Jeff adds. “We’re just sort of in a little bit of limbo. I’m sure everybody’s got a bunch more riffs, and I’m sure [frontman Eddie Vedder]’s got a handful of journal lyrics. It’s just going to take us all getting into a room together for six weeks and just knocking something out.”
This is a broken record, but I think I’ve said that I would record a lot more with Pearl Jam if that was what could happen," continues Jeff. “It just hasn’t happened for some reason.”
Pearl Jam's latest single, Can't Deny Me, was released last March.
“It’s a heavy song and such a great performance from Ed,” Jeff told Kerrang! of the track. “In these times, it’s good to have a song like that to get it off our chest. That’s one of the great parts about the band. We sort of earned this platform to speak about the things that we see as truths and to represent the people in our corner.”
