Rou Reynolds Gives Update On The New Enter Shikari Album

Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds has given Kerrang! an exclusive update on the band's next record.

Shikari's forthcoming album will be the follow-up to 2017's sensational record The Spark, which won Best Album at the 2018 Kerrang! Awards.

Over the summer and autumn, Enter Shikari were deep into touring, performing a whopping five times at Reading & Leeds festivals before heading out on a tour of the United States – including a super-intimate show in Brooklyn especially for Kerrang!.

During that time on the road, Rou was busy writing and, as he puts it, "all sorts of stuff was coming out."

He tells Kerrang!, "I wasn’t really sure where to take things next, but there’s a real plan starting to form. There’ll be tracks on there that wouldn’t sound out of place on Take To The Skies or Common Dreads. There’s some heavy stuff, some euphoric things… the synths and guitars are bolder on this record.

"We’re trying to make the definitive Shikari record; the one that a fan would pass to their mate like, ‘You don’t know Shikari? This is where you start.’”

Enter Shikari recently released a documentary of their Russian tour, which is available to watch now.

There's no word on a release date for the next album yet, but you have to imagine it's coming sooner rather than later. Keep your eyes on Kerrang! for the latest info.
