The Smashing Pumpkins announce four huge summer shows in England
The Smashing Pumpkins will be heading to London’s Gunnersbury Park with special guests Skunk Anansie and White Lies, as well as Halifax, Scarborough and Colchester.
Celebrating the news with fresh single Cheers, Skunk Anansie have confirmed that their long-awaited seventh album The Painful Truth will drop in May.
Skunk Anansie have announced their long-awaited new studio album, The Painful Truth.
Their first record in nine years, following 2016’s Anarchytecture, the legendary London band will release The Painful Truth on May 23 via FLG Records.
And it promises to be a fired-up effort, too, with vocalist Skin emphatically sharing in a statement: “I don’t care that we were big in the ’90s. Creatively it’s irrelevant because in my rock bible the first commandment states, ‘If thy rest on them laurels thy shall wither up and die artistically, musically, mentally. And then financially.’”
Detailing how Skunk needed to do something “fresh and forward-thinking” this time around, they teamed up with David Sitek of TV On The Radio on production duties, with Skin teasing that they’ve now ultimately made what “I genuinely think is our greatest record yet”.
