Sleater-Kinney have just announced their 11th album, Little Rope.
The legendary alternative rock duo – Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein – will be releasing their new 10-track record on January 19 via Loma Vista, with lead single Hell unveiled today to coincide with the announcement.
Detailing what’s to come lyrically from Little Rope, a press release says the ‘emotional backbone’ of the record is about ‘how we navigate grief, who we navigate it with, and the ways it transforms us’. It comes after Carrie Brownstein’s mother and stepfather were killed in a car accident in Italy last autumn, and while ‘some of the album had already been written, aspects of each song – a guitar solo, the singing style, the sonic approach – were pulled into a changed emotional landscape’.
