“I’m freaking out!” Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hits Number One in the UK charts

An Instagram account that reimagines iconic rock and metal album covers with characters from The Simpsons will no doubt put a spring(field) in your step today.
The genius creators behind Springfield Albums have conjured up over 200 brilliant concoctions over the past couple of months, replacing figures on albums by the likes of Metallica, Korn, My Chemical Romance, Placebo and Muse with characters from the beloved animated sitcom – from Homer Simpson as blink-182's titular Buddha, to Monty Burns and Waylon Smithers sharing a smooch on Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown.

Of course, The Simpsons have crossed over with rock and metal many, many times in the past. There's been a bunch of great cameos in the show, including Judas Priest's Rob Halford parodying the band's own Breaking The Law, Aerosmith stopping by Moe's – then Flamin' Moe's – to perform Walk This Way with Mr. Szyslak himself, and Otto living out his metalhead dream getting to hang out with Metallica. But if that's not quite enough rock and metal to keep you satisfied, then some of these should definitely do the trick…
