See Linkin Park help kick off 2024 League Of Legends World Championships in London
Several weeks on from their headline show there, Linkin Park returned to The O2 for a fiery performance of Heavy Is The Crown…
Chester Bennington's pre-Linkin Park band have revealed a new five-minute clip from their upcoming documentary, Making Amends.
Ahead of the release of their new LP Amends in April, Grey Daze have unveiled a brand-new teaser clip from the album's accompanying documentary, Making Amends.
The video is the third in an eight-part YouTube series, with the band releasing a fresh instalment every week in the run-up to Amends. This latest episode, Revival, tragically begins on July 20, 2017 – the day Chester Bennington passed away.
“I got a call from my old publicist, who just said, ‘Go online,'" begins bassist Mace Beyers. "He told me Chester had committed suicide and I said, ‘Get the fuck out of here.’ I went online and sure enough it was everywhere.”
“I just rang [Chester's widow] Talinda and said, ‘Hey, I don’t want details or anything like that, I just wanna know what you guys need. How can I help you?’" continues drummer Sean Dowdell. “She just said, ‘Come out to LA and get here.’ I kissed my kids, my wife, packed my bag and drove out to LA and spent the next 10 days in LA, trying to help Talinda deal with the ridiculous amount of chaos that ensued, up until the funeral date.”

Speaking to Kerrang! about his relationship with Chester within the band, Sean said, “He and I had a connection in writing music together. We loved to write lyrics because we both have a talent to express emotional intent. I just got him on that level. I could tell what he was trying to convey and I could help shape it. He was a genius in the ability to express his emotions into metaphor.”
Revealing what's to come from the Grey Daze album – which features Chester's vocals – the drummer then teased: “There is a depth in the lyrics on this record. Chester sings every word like he believes every single emotion attached. It’s bittersweet for me. There’s that big, obvious looming thing that he’s not here to share this with me. But I’m very proud in how we curated this music. We took almost three years to make this record after he passed. I think he’d be quite proud of what we did.”
