Following three months of learning, 12-year-old Nandi Bushell has shared a seriously impressive drum cover of jazz standard Caravan.
From Tool to Linkin Park, we’ve seen young drumming star Nandi Bushell tackle all sorts of covers over the years. But this month the 12-year-old has gone one step further and unveiled “the most difficult drum cover I have ever made”.
Nandi has just shared a jaw-dropping drum cover of the jazz standard Caravan, which famously featured in 2014 movie Whiplash. She reveals that it took her “three months” to learn the whole thing, explaining that: “First I needed to learn new techniques, then memorise all the sheet music. I was hard! I pushed myself and practiced so much. It took a week of trying to film. This song takes so much energy and stamina. I needed to concentrate like I had never concentrated before. It was not easy! I kept on practicing. I love to keep improving and getting better.”
She adds: “I wonder how I will play this song in a few more years. I also wonder how many ‘Not my tempo’ jokes I will get…”
Incredible work, Nandi! Check it out below:
