Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more to play LA wildfire benefit concert
Some of the biggest names in music are joining forces to raise funds for those affected by the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.
This. Is. Not. A. Drill.
It's the news we've long been hoping for: Billie Joe Armstrong has confirmed he's writing new Green Day music.
While we've all been wondering what the hell the Berkeley trio have been up to lately – from rehearsing a bunch of old, classic albums in full, to (sort of) landing on Mars – the frontman suddenly sent fans into overdrive this weekend. During an Instagram Live video, Billie Joe ever-so-casually wrote: "I'm writing new songs for gd now." And, given none of his other musical projects have the initials 'gd', we can safely assume that means Green Day. YES!
Obviously, the band have been known to take their time between releases, so it still could be a while until we hear a follow-up to 2016's brilliant Revolution Radio. But even so, this is very, very promising.
