Green Day are currently in South Africa for their first shows ever in the country. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong didn't waste the opportunity to bite his thumb at its wealthiest and most well-known son during their gig in Johannesburg last night, when he changed a line in American Idiot to let the Tesla CEO know his thoughts.

'I'm not part of the Elon agenda' he declared to FNB Stadium. Check out the video below.

Yesterday, Elon caused controversy at Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C. when he gave a hand gesture at the end of his speech, which many have interpreted as a Seig Heil salute. The Twitter/X owner's newly-created Department Of Government Efficiency (or, Doge) was sued moments after Trump was sworn in, in a lawsuit alleging it violates federal transparency rules regarding hiring and disclosure, among other things.

Green Day will play the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles on January 30 alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga.

This summer, they will headline Download Festival alongside Sleep Token and Kornget your tickets now.
