“I’m freaking out!” Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hits Number One in the UK charts
See Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong accepting their trophy from the Official Charts to celebrate Linkin Park’s new album From Zero hitting Number One.
We’ve waited 100 hours… but Linkin Park’s countdown is now going upwards after hitting zero, and no-one knows what’s going on anymore!
WHAT IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW? Linkin Park’s cryptic 100-hour countdown just came to an end only a matter of minutes ago – but it seems as though we’re still no closer to answers about what the band are up to.
With their big countdown clock video running down from 100 hours and finally finishing at 7:15pm BST today, the band’s ‘ø’ YouTube video then glitched promisingly… only to reset and start counting upwards from zero. Argh!
Shortly after, LP took to social media to post that, “It’s only a matter of time…” Does this mean that we’re going to have to wait another 100 hours for an official announcement? Or are they going to pick a random (and hopefully much sooner) moment to unveil their news?
Watch this space.
Either way, one thing we do know is that Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley isn’t involved in these mysterious plans. The frontman had to share a statement yesterday (August 27) after he’d originally teased an announcement at the same time as Linkin Park’s countdown.
“I feel the need to dispel some current rumours,” he wrote. “It’s been brought to my attention that many people think I could be joining a reuniting band. But I just want to say, despite popular belief, I am not joining Oasis… or Linkin Park. Or any other band for that matter.
“I have my own ‘tour and book’ announcement that I will now move to the end of the week, ahead of our U.S. tour.
“I do look forward to seeing whatever both these amazing bands do in the future.”
