With everyone getting (extremely) excited over the idea that Deryck Whibley might be part of a potential Linkin Park reunion, the Sum 41 frontman has announced that he needs to “dispel” said rumours…
Deryck Whibley has just announced that he’s not joining Linkin Park.
The internet has blown up in the past couple of days with rumours that the Sum 41 frontman might be joining the band for a reunion tour next year, with a big countdown to an announcement from LP tomorrow (Wednesday, August 28). But from Deryck’s side, all this talk is nothing to do with him.
“I feel the need to dispel some current rumours,” Deryck writes. “It’s been brought to my attention that many people think I could be joining a reuniting band. But I just want to say, despite popular belief, I am not joining Oasis… or Linkin Park. Or any other band for that matter.
“I have my own ‘tour and book’ announcement that I will now move to the end of the week, ahead of our U.S. tour.
“I do look forward to seeing whatever both these amazing bands do in the future.”
