The Darkness drop high-energy single: “A joyous, raucous celebration of self-loathing”
Listen to The Darkness’ self-deprecating new single I Hate Myself, taken from their forthcoming album Dreams On Toast.
Good news: Just Hawkins' British rock legends still haven't found the 'sensible' setting
Following on from their recent I Hate Myself single, The Darkness have dropped another banger from their upcoming Dreams On Toast album, the raucous Rock And Roll Party Cowboy.
Featuring a repeated shout of 'Big party!', it's an unsurprisingly big banger. Frontman Justin Hawkins reveals it's also about people thinking they think they know how cool he is, but also thinking far too small.
“People recognise me as astronaut pirate movie star cool and that’s obviously accurate," he explains. "What they may have overlooked though, is that I am also ROCK AND ROLL PARTY COWBOY cool… which is a good 15 percent cooler!!! I think you’ll recognise that in the first listen."
Right you are, sir. See for yourself.
The band have also announced two more UK gigs, on top of their headlining tour with Irish rockers Ash around Dreams On Toast's release on March 28. They'll be doing special Dreams On Toast and Greatest Hits sets in Coventry and Leeds in May.
They're also playing Download Festival in June – get your tickets now.
