See Billie Joe Armstrong perform with The Go-Go’s at Coachella

Before headlining the festival on Saturday, April 12, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong turned up to Coachella one day early to perform with reunited rock legends The Go-Go’s.

The frontman surprised festival-goers at the Outdoor Theatre stage watching Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Gina Schock, who were playing their first major show together since 2018 (following a warm-up in Hollywood on April 9).

Billie Joe joined the set just over halfway through to help sing and play along to Head Over Heels, announcing during the song: “Coachella! Holy shit, I’m playing with The Go-Go’s!” Afterwards, on Green Day’s Instagram, he posted that he was “Head over heels after playing with @officialgogos at @coachella”
