Following the announcement of New Years Rev, casting office Freihofer has released a callout for a concert scene in the movie.

The forthcoming Green Day-inspired comedy is in need of “punks, alts, hardcore, emo and rockers” between the ages of 18 and 30, who will “appear as attendees of a pop-up rock show at an outdoor location”.

Interestingly, the filming will take place in Oklahoma City between February 24 – 27, and one day will reportedly include a “rain and mud fight” event, which is presumably based on Green Day’s legendary set at 1994 Woodstock which ended in a giant mud fight.

New Years Rev is based on the band’s beginnings, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong previously announcing, “Van days rule. You will drive all night on no sleep then play a show for 10 kids in a basement of a friend of a friend’s house 50 miles east of anywhere you’ve ever heard of. But you’ll do it again the next day, and the one after that. Because you’re doing it with your bandmates who become your family and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever known. It’s electric. Let the music and mischief ensue.”
