In celebration of their 10th anniversary, Weatherstate have shared a new cover of Green Day’s Burnout because it’s “always been a special song for this band”.
Weatherstate have just released a fun, faithful cover of Burnout by Green Day.
To celebrate their 10th anniversary as a band, the Weymouth punks have tackled Dookie’s brilliant opener, because, they say, it’s “always been a special song” for them.
“Whilst stating the obvious that Green Day are the reason we picked up instruments as kids, Burnout specifically has always been a special song for this band,” explains vocalist and guitarist Harry Hoskins.
“Our first-ever gig in 2014 was a Green Day covers set at a club night, and we opened the set with this song. With us now celebrating 10 years together as Weatherstate, we wanted to mark the occasion and couldn’t think of anything better than going back to where it all started.”
Stream Weatherstate’s cover of Burnout below, and catch the band live on the road throughout April and May.
